Type 2 diabetes

Megagliptin MF is prescribed to patients withType-2 Diabetes. It is an orally available combination medicine of Teneligliptin and Metformin. Teneliglitin increases the count of natural substances known as incretins which in turn helps increase insulin release by the pancreas while decreasing the production of glucose by your liver. Metformin helps restore your cell’s response to the naturally produced insulin in your body.

Blood glucose is the main source of energy and it comes from the food you consume. Your pancreas produces a hormone called insulin, which helps convert the glucose from your food to energy by carrying it inside your cells.

In type-2 diabetes patients, their body doesn’t produce enough insulin or doesn’t manage insulin well due to the inefficient functioning of the pancreas building up sugar in your body. Glucose then accumulates in your blood and doesn’t reach your cells causing a lot of health problems and diseases that may include:

  • Heart problems
  • Stroke
  • Dental diseases
  • Eye problems
  • Nerve damage
  • Kidney problems

Megagliptin MF helps reduce blood glucose in patients with impaired insulin production, who follow a proper diet and exercise routine.

In response to meal, a hormone called GLP-1 is secreted by cells of the intestine.GLP-1 is rapidly inactivated by an enzyme called DPP4. Teneligliptin binds to DPP4 and inactivates it, allowing GLP-1 to remain active. Active GLP-1 causes the pancreas to increase insulin secretion there by reducing the blood glucose.
