Your doctor has prescribed Keppdix as you may be suffering from an Epilepsy disorder.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder or a disorder of the central nervous system. In patients suffering from epilepsy, the brain activity becomes abnormal. This causes seizures or sensations, unusual behaviour and sometimes loss of awareness.
The body’s functions are triggered by messaging systems in the brain. When this system is disrupted due to faulty electrical activity, it can result in epileptic seizures. Epilepsy can occur due to various reasons like head injuries occurring during birth or in adulthood, low oxygen during birth, infections like encephalitis or meningitis, brain tumours or genetic conditions like tuberous sclerosis that may cause injury in the brain.
Symptoms of epilepsy include repeated or uncontrollable twitching or jerking movement of arms or legs, temporary confusion, a staring spell or staring blankly for a few seconds, loss of consciousness, fear, anxiety or deja vu. Minimum two unprovoked seizures are generally diagnosed as an epilepsy disorder.
Epilepsy can be treated with anti-seizure or anti-epileptic medication which helps most patients to become seizure-free. Other patients are prescribed a combination of medications which decrease the frequency and intensity of their seizures. Some patients may require lifelong treatment for getting a control over their seizures, but for many others, the seizures eventually cease.
